About Anna

I received a Bachelor’s degree in biology from Harvard University and spent the next ten years pursuing a career in evolutionary biology. Eventually, I went back to school to earn a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Texas at Austin.  Along the way I became a Certified Group Psychotherapist and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.

I work primarily from a Modern Analytic perspective with its strong emphasis on emotional communication, and I draw from other approaches too, including cognitive-behavioral, attachment-based, and relational. I have experience working with all kinds of life experiences and I have a long-standing interest in the climate crisis and large-scale systemic problems.

I continue to pursue my own training in both local and national settings, including study at the Center for Group Studies in New York. I enjoy presenting and have spoken many times about the climate crisis and the benefits of group work.
