About Anna
My first focus was biology; I received a Bachelor’s degree in biology from Harvard University, worked at field stations in Latin America and earned a degree in evolutionary biology studying toads. Eventually I decided to switch gears and went back to school for a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Along the way I became a Certified Group Psychotherapist and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.
I work primarily from a Modern Analytic perspective with its strong emphasis on emotional communication. I also draw from other approaches, including cognitive-behavioral, attachment-based, and relational therapies. I have worked with all kinds of life experiences and I have a long-standing interest in the climate crisis and large-scale collective problems.
I continue to pursue my own training in both local and national settings, including study at the Center for Group Studies in New York. I enjoy presenting and have spoken many times about the climate crisis and the benefits of group work.
